Road Trip!!
Yesterday was simply epic. Took off at 6:30am for an hour ride and I was surprised I didn't catch a bunch of bugs in my mouth as it was wide open in awe of the amazing views. Wide bike lanes are everywhere and the road quality is superb. Really looking forward to the 112 mile bike leg. I transitioned quickly (that's the one thing I'd podium on) and Gail, Madison, and I took off for the hour drive to Rocky Mountain National Park...a must see if you come out here. We drove an hour each way along Trail Ridge Road to the Alpine Visitor Center - altitude over 12K and 59 degrees. This time all of our mouth's agape. Madison, "C.A." (Captain Anal) in training, nailed the "12,000" pic on my altitude app. She's got mad skills. :) Boulder welcomed us back to 95 degrees. Gail and Madison hit a farmer's market in town and I went for a much needed haircut (the "M" is for Madison) and then a run. Breathing was labored, but it was good to feel what it will be like on race day. Racing, I've learned, is about a lot of things. Altitude and the dryness make this one a bit more challenging. Bring it!
