We'll Take All The Zen We Can Get
We are loving Boulder! Thankfully, it's a place where there are lots of opportunities to find serenity because poor Scott nearly had a heart attack yesterday. While Madison and I were out exploring, he needed to put his bike together... possibly one of the more stressful activities after taking it apart for air travel. Not that I know anything about bikes, but apparently, one of the hydraulic brakes was not working (sweat starting), so he brought it to a bike shop and they said they didn't know how to fix hydraulic brakes (heart racing), but to take it to this other shop, which he did, and they didn't know how to fix it either (blood boiling). I'm not exactly certain, but I think it was the fourth place he tried that, not only fixed the problem, but only charged him $20! (Did they not smell his desperation? Surely, if they did, our Visa card would be maxed out!) Scott gave the guy another 20, and proceeded to experience one of the more major moments of gratitude in his lifetime.
Later in the day, we all had massages - planned by Scott weeks ago - ran to Trader Joe's, and made a really nice dinner at the house. (I included a photo of our VRBO. It's cute, right?)
Today we got up early, Scott did his bike training - originally scheduled for yesterday, but, well, you know the story! Then we drove to Rocky Mountain National Park. OMG - nature is just so amazing. It's difficult to describe. We took pics, but for sure, they did not do our sights justice. I am so humbled - by this whole experience. I'm not taking one second for granted.
